Blog Tour Review: Justice Falling by Audrey Carlan

Title: Justice Falling, Falling Series Book 3
Author: Audrey Carlan
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance (Erotic)

Sweet and naïve in the ways of the world, Camille “Cami” Johnston has done whatever it takes to survive in New York City. Unbroken by her tumultuous past, she is pursuing a stable and secure future that doesn’t include worrying about where the rent money will come from. Little does she know, a full-time position at Jensen Construction will do more than pay the bills, it will bring her everything she ever dreamed of having, but didn’t believe she was worthy of.

Known ladies’ man, Nathaniel “Nate” Walker, has never had a problem securing a date. As a widely successful lawyer and business owner, he knows exactly how to get what he wants, when he wants it, in and out of the courtroom… until he meets Camille Johnston.

Nate’s overly confident, alpha male tendencies toward Cami have her thoughts and emotions in a jumble of uncertainty and lust. But once the sparks fly between the cheeky lawyer and his precious Camille, the resounding flames are unstoppable.

As the couple try to find their way toward a future they both yearn for, secrets from Camille’s past and present start piling up into a vortex of half-truths and lies of omission. Now the instant connection that brought Nate and Cami together is held together by a tenuous thread.

With a little help from their friends, Camille and Nate’s steamy, romantic, breathless journey finishes off the third installment of The Falling Series.

Each book in the Falling Series can be read as a standalone but are better when read together. All three books are intended for readers 18+ due to language and graphic sexual content.

Reading Order:

Angel Falling – Book 1
London Falling – Book 2
Justice Falling – Book 3

Camille “Cami” is a single mother I admire. I love that she didn’t let a relationship gone very bad dictate what she did with some shocking news. This is one strong women who set some goals and plugged away at them against all odds without losing her happy place.

Nathaniel’s “Nate” accent, you can feel it coming off the pages and rolling all over you. He is just downright sexy. The author did a great job of showing a man who has everything yet knew he was missing something. I like that this man could put himself out there for Camille time and time again because he felt she was exactly what he wanted and needed.

This book is filled with strength of character, forgiveness, family in many shapes and sizes and love. It is not just about sexy hot men and awesome love scenes. There are some scenes with Aspen and Oliver in the hospital that had me laughing so hard I had to wipe my eyes. From past experiences I could relate to other funny scenes between Tanner and Nate where I was laughing so loud I hoped I didn’t wake up the people in the hotel room next to me. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

A copy was gifted in exchange for an honest review.

REVIEW ~ Awaken The Highland Warrior by Anita Clenney

~ Genre ~
Paranormal Romance, Time Travel, Historical Romance, Scotland

~ Find This Book At ~ Goodreads | Barnes & Noble | Amazon

He's had centuries to dream of her...

Mis-adventurous historian Bree Kirkland discovers a one hundred fifty year old warrior buried in a crypt behind her house. But Faelan, the warrior, isn’t dead. When this chauvinistic Scottish Warrior awakes, he has no choice but accept the help of this modern-day woman who’s rescued him, but she’s more fearsome than the demon trying to kill him. If he’s not careful, she’ll uncover every secret his clan has bled and died to protect.

~ Pre-Review Comment ~
The first time I read this book was when it came out in 2011. I was really sick and spent all my time reading books. I was sold on the cover and the blurb. Also being a descendent from the clan Moffat and having lived there for a short time I love all things Scotland.

But seriously I was hook from the first page and didn’t put it down till I was through with the whole book. This exceptional book introduced me to my love of historical paranormal reading and I will be forever grateful that it was so well written that my thirst for more kept me going during the worse part of my illness.

The second thing about this book is when I got better I started traveling, sewing costumes for entertainment. This created a need, so I bought my first Nook and from that day forward my life has changed drastically because I could pre-order my books and impatiently wait for them to become available.

I am enthralled by Ms. Clenney’s way of describing scenery and people without being boring. I can feel what she is describing like I am right there. I love the richness of her words where you can smell the air, feel the time vault, etc....

Bree is one gutsy lady. I love her mixture of bravery then fearfulness showing that even the brave can be afraid. Bree definitely is someone I would like to be. She is curious and unafraid to search for things to get answers. Bree sure loves to run full steam ahead into everything including danger. Though she drives Faelan crazy because he is an old fashion chauvinistic sweetheart, she will keep you amused with her antics. I really need to be honest even the men of this generation would have a hard time with Bree.

Poor hunky Faelan wants Bree so bad but is trying to treat her with careful gentlemanly manners even when he worries about if she is a demon. He has no idea of what to do with Bree, a modern spunky woman or how to keep her safe. He tries unsuccessfully to keep her safe and he constantly has to beware so she won’t figure out his clan’s secret. This would surely drive any man crazy.

This book introduces some very hot secondary Highland Warriors characters that will be featured in future books. And I believe you will fall in love with the very sexy Ronan who is one of my favorites. Another secondary character intrigues me, Tristol one of the demons of old, the ancient ones, and I can’t wait to see how his character progresses through the Warrior series.

This is a series well worth reading.

My name is Anita Clenney and I write Mysteries and Paranormal Romantic Suspense. I’ve worked in a pickle factory (picture Lucy and Ethel, hair nets and all--lasted half a day), a preschool, booked shows for Aztec Fire Dancers, been a Secretary, Executive Assistant, and a Realtor, and through it all, I’ve been in love. Sometimes it was wonderful, sometimes it hurt so bad I could hardly breathe. Then I found Mr. Right, and the two of us multiplied into a family of four. We live in Virginia, not far from Washington, DC, where we are slaves to a white Boxer named Lily, who thinks we live and breathe to buy new stuff for her to chew up. My husband is a Network Architect, and it’s a good thing because technology doesn’t like me. My son plans to be a famous hockey or football player, and my daughter will probably figure out a way to rule the world.

With scenes rolling nonstop in my head and my feet rarely on the ground, I should have realized that I was born to write much earlier in life, but alas, no. Not until I was on the wrong side of 40 did I hear the keyboard calling me. But then I tend to do things backwards.

When I decided to wrestle the stories in my imagination and dreams onto the page, my husband and kids encouraged me all the way. Even when I was in the middle of a heated battle with warriors and demons and forgot that people in the real world had to eat dinner and that dishes didn’t wash themselves, still my family supported me. Finally it paid off. After three years, eleven months and twenty-two days, I got THE CALL from my wonderful agent Christine Witthohn of Book Cents Literary Agency, who is really Wonder Woman in disguise. A publisher wanted to buy my story. MY STORY!!! Not just one, but three of them. A new journey begins and I hope you’ll join me for the ride.

Some of my favorite things:

God -- Family (greatest family in the world) -- Diamonds (ooh la la, do I love diamonds)  --  Blue Jeans  --  Interior Decorating (I admit I have a fetish for beautiful mirrors)  --  Trees and Summer breezes (there’s nothing better than the wind whispering in the leaves on a warm, summer day, especially if you're curled up with a book) --  Reading --  Shopping for bargains (I buy so many they’re no longer a bargain. Can you say one in every color please?)  --  Junk food (trying to control that but not having much luck) --  The TV show LOST  --  Loreena McKennitt’s music  --  Mysteries and Romance… of course  --  And my fabulous editing partner, writer Dana Rodgers, another of my favorite things. I don’t know what I’d do without her.
