~ My Review ~
Bestselling author Roxanne St. Claire has been done a
brilliant job of writing an entertaining first book to the Barefoot Bay series.
At the time of this post this book was free and I am so glad I picked it
up. I could tell by this book that I
definitely want to read the next book.
This story centers on the Casa Blanca Resort & Spa where
Mandy works as a maid and Zeke is staying as a guest.
Zeke is from Barefoot Bay and the author writes a very
heartfelt story showing whom this billionaire was in high school, “Ezekiel the
Geekie!” and who he became. His character was well written and I appreciate the
way his character didn’t live in the past or make his schoolmates pay for how
they treated him. It is refreshing to me that his character was developed in a
manner that shows we don’t need grudges in our lives.
I felt that the harder character to balance was Mandy, “Mandy
the Magnificent” who is now working as a maid. This was the one in school who
had it all, looks, cheerleader, etc. Later she married into money. You’ll love who she became and will appreciate
her honesty with her feelings and how she deals with her life. The author gave
the perfect amount of her past life history to add a kink to a HEA.
This is a thoroughly entertaining read and I recommend it
for all. I give it 4 Stars. I am off to read the next book in the series " Seduction on the Sand" come join me.
