Intimate
by Kate Douglas
From bestselling author Kate Douglas comes the first book in a sensational new series set in California wine country—a place where love is always intoxicating...
HER BEAUTY IS POWERFUL.
They call her Kaz. She's a gorgeous model with a good head for business—until now, at least. Kaz has just been fired from her latest photo shoot for having the wrong tattoo in the wrong place at the wrong time. But a chance encounter with photographer Jake Lowell could make everything right again . . . if Kaz is willing to accept his proposition. What does she have to lose?
HIS DESIRE IS DANGEROUS.
Jake has been searching for the perfect model to pose for a body-jewelry shoot—one that will leave no room for modesty. Is Kaz, who is nothing if not professional, ready to bare it all for a man she is not sure she can trust? It's an offer that's too good to refuse . . . and as Kaz finds herself growing more comfortable with Jake, the attraction between them reaches arousing new heights. But while the artist and his subject learn more about each other in the intimacy of wine country, evil lurks in the shadows—and soon it becomes clear that someone else has designs on them...
This first book to a new series hits a home run for me. I have read other books by this author in the paranormal area so I was curious if she would be able to crossover and still hold my attention. Hum, yes she did hold my interest as well as keeping me on the edge of my seat wanting to solve the mysterious happenings throughout the book.
The primary female character, Kaz was very edgy and due to the authors beautiful descriptions of the piercings and body jewelry being so realistic I have this insane desire to go out and get some piercings. Seriously this author has a way with words that grabs you and pulls you into the story,
I like Jake, he was the perfect match for Kaz and it is fascinating watching how the two developed in their relationship with some of the obstacles they had to overcome.
This book offers the reader intrigue, romance, hope, and hotness. I give it 4 STARS.
An ARC copy was gifted in exchange for an honest opinion via Netgalley.
I am so glad you liked this story--it's a huge shift for me, so definitely gratifying when readers get what I was trying to do. And not a single four-footed character with speaking parts in the book--the basset hound doesn't count!
ReplyDeleteThank you for such a terrific review--going up on my website now.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
DeleteDid I send you the ARC for Redemption? If not, let me know, as I just got an extra one and can stick it in the mail.
