Real estate mogul Micah Holt exerts absolute control over all aspects of his life. He keeps his dark side hidden away from the press, who will chase down any hint of scandal. He’s always in command of his world, careful to expose his closely guarded secrets only to those he knows he can trust. Then Allie Bennett shakes his legendary discipline. She’s beautiful, pure, untainted. But is Micah willing to sacrifice her innocence for his own selfish obsessions?

When that sexy smile makes her body burn, Allie tries with all her might to ignore it. For one thing, Micah's her new boss. For another, he's as complicated as he is devastatingly handsome. Still, Allie can only fight so much before she gives in to his dangerous games. She knows he's got dark secrets. But when she discovers the true depth of his pain, Allie must decide how far she's willing to go to light the way for love.

Bound Beneath His Pain is intended for mature audiences.

Every once in a while you read a series that is so hot it burns a hole in the pages but this book has more meat to the characters and a story that burns a hole in your heart then slowly heals it.

From the first chapter the author holds you spellbound as you watch the intense verbal play between Micah and Allie. This is one caring, kind and feisty girl who knows how to take care of herself and others. Allie's character is refreshing as she just takes what she wants and stays true to herself throughout the book. The most impressive thing about her is that she can see through a persons actions to what is tormenting them and she tries above all things to understand what drives a person.

Micah is a rather interesting man and his character was well balanced between hard edged while being soft and kind in a hidden part of himself. His character had more substance then just money. I found him intriguing as he tried to win over Allie and it was heart warming watching his facade crack and a new person emerge.

This story deals with abuse, death, suicide, dark desires, forgiveness, love, helping others and protecting peoples rights. It really is not a depressing or darkly intense read. More to the point it is about finding the one person who can control the demons that you live with and loving you inspite of everything about you..

From the epilogue I cannot wait for the next book to this new series that will tell Taylor and Darius's intense story. I give this 5 STARS for not only being a smoking hot read but one filled with so many emotions I cried.
