Review ~ Shadow Touched by Erin Kellison

~ Categories ~ Fantasy, Paranormal Romance

*Shadow Touched is Ellie and Cam's complete story, previously released as Shadow Touch, Shadow Play and Shadow Hunt, ending in the thrilling conclusion, the previously unreleased Shadow Burn.

A darkness looms over humankind, lurks in mirrors, blurs boundaries—a twilight world ruled by powerful mage Houses...

It is bleeding into our world, bringing with it banshees, wraiths, fae from the twisting forests of Twilight. But Eleanor Russo’s problem is a very different kind of phenomenon. Her dark mirror image is a wild thing, willfully seducing the very man Ellie hoped could help her.

Dr. Cam Kalamos has devoted his career to exploring the boundaries between this world and Twilight. But nothing could prepare him for the mischief and mayhem of a soul split in two.

As Ellie and Cam explore their deepest desires and barely escape with their lives, there is only one certainty: Trusting in shadows is a dangerous game.

What a dramatic opening this book had. It got my attention as I was mesmerized by the introduction of Eleanor and the events surrounding her meeting Cam. The book is filled with parts that were so surreal that my mind wanted to slam on the brakes and spend time solving the phenomena that was occurring. It is one of the few paranormal books that really caused me think wow...what if, how who I react, what would I do, but why, etc.

Further more, descriptive scenes draw the reader into the story making the reader feel like they are each of the characters in the book. A good example is when the author was describing Cam while he was learning to handle his new gift. I actually felt like I was him going through the process and seeing through his eyes all the things that he was struggling with in bright 3D color.

When reading most often there is a part of you that wants to lean towards either the hero or the heroine more but in this book I felt they were very balanced and in fact complemented each other.

The story does keep the reader on their toes trying to figure out the mystery of who the real villains are and whether Eleanor would get what she wished for. Reader's don't worry this book will keep your interest till the very end and is worth the read.

An ARC copy was gifted in exchange for an honest opinion via Netgalley.
