Deanna Thompson doesn’t believe in ghosts. However, everybody thinks her hotel is haunted, in particular the very handsome, sexy and irritating paranormal investigator Harry DeVeaux.

Someone’s trying to kill Deanna, but is it the ghosts she doesn’t believe in, the rich socialite who might be a murderess, or someone else with a beef against The Gilroy Hotel and Resort that Deanna has just been hired to manage? The Gilroy’s owners want the spirits, or whoever is causing the trouble at the hotel, eliminated, and they are pressuring Deanna to do the job as quickly as possible. Paranormal investigator Harry DeVeaux comes highly recommended and, against Deanna’s better judgment, she hires him.

Although Deanna thinks Harry’s crazy for believing in ghosts, and Harry thinks Deanna has a closed mind to the possibilities of the paranormal—not to mention that they highly annoy each other—sparks fly. Deanna can’t help but fantasize about Harry and, inspired by a romance convention visiting her hotel, she writes her fantasies in a private blog that Harry finds, hacks and reads. Ooh la la!

~ My Review ~

Wow Author, Ashley Ladd, is the “Queen” of beautiful descriptions throughout the book with people, incidents and places. I loved her description of the hotel. It had me falling back into time to actually feel like I was standing in front of The Gilroy Hotel and wandering through it with her.

This book starts off running and keeps a fast pace throughout the story line, creating in the reader a need to not put it down. Even better are the varying plot interests, for every one including murder, attempted murder, ghosts and romance. Oh I shouldn’t forget the steamy, hot and very sexy blog that Deanna writes and Harry reads.

I really enjoyed the confrontational interaction between the primary characters Deanna and Harry. The character of Deanna is based on people who don’t believe in ghosts and is very well written and truly believable. And on the opposite side of the coin is the description of Harry who believes in ghosts. He was written in a way that has you thinking…hum maybe just maybe there is something to this and that you can be perfectly normal and believe in ghosts.

I recommend this book for it’s beautiful descriptions and the very intriguing twisting plots.
