REVIEW of All's Fair in Love and Wolf by Terry Spear

Sportochick's MusingsThis book creates the world of family and friends who will do anything to help and support someone they care and love.

All's Fair in Love and Wolf

Heart of the Wolf #25

by Terry Spear

Publisher ~ Sourcebooks Casablanca
Genres ~ Paranormal Romance, Shifters

The Silver Town wolf pack has your back

Wolf shifter Sarandon Silver's in trouble with the law, and bounty hunter she-wolf Jenna St. James is determined to bring him in for trial.

Lucky for Sarandon, the entire Silver Town pack is ready to fight for his innocence. But until the case is solved, Jenna's sticking to Sarandon like glue...

This book was very entertaining, and it was interesting to see how cheerful and confident Sarandon was regarding his innocence and his feelings about Jenna. Within its pages Author Terry Spear creates the world of family and friends who will do anything to help and support someone they care and love. This is very refreshing to read when the world around us portrays dysfunctional families as a norm. It also does a great job of tying in main characters from previous books to this series.

For Sarandon his life gets turned upside down and he learns some things that shock he and his brothers. But their integrity comes shining through when faced with this unknown.

Jenna has a one-track mind to get her man, but she is also interesting because she thinks rationally and logically about things, so she has the ability to see both sides of the story and act accordingly. I do think she might have gone a little faster with Sarandon than one would expect because of her profession but it all ties in with the storyline so eventually it no longer bothered me.

This is a worthy read for those paranormal readers out there and I give it 4 STARS.

Love, love, love romance, the paranormal, hunky Highlanders with their delicious brogue and hot kilts, so Terry Spear writes about those hunky Highlanders both in medieval times and as wolves in contemporary times. Jaguar shifters too! And young adult urban fantasy. And romantic suspense.

She grew up reading mystery, adventure, mythologies from around the world, ghost stories, the paranormal, fell in love with Dracula and Wolfman, and felt they needed loving too. Everyone should have someone to love. Which means her stories always have a HEA.

USA Today Bestseller residing in Central Texas from Sacramento, California who creates award-winning teddy bears too!

REVIEW X Marks the Spot by Opal Carew

Sportochick's Musings ~ This is more than an erotica it also includes emotions involving lost love and present love.

X Marks the Spot

by Opal Carew

Find The Book At ~ Amazon | B&N | Goodreads
Publisher ~ St. Martin's Press, St. Martin's Press Griffin
Genres ~ Erotica, Adult Contemporary Romance

Opal Carew takes desire to a whole new level in her latest erotic, standalone romance!

Abi has been in love with Del for years, but they never got around to acting on their mutual attraction. And then she met and married his best friend, Liam.

But when Abi and Liam's marriage falls apart, Abi decides to take control of her life and find her happily-ever-after with Del. So when they're all staying in a country inn for her brother's wedding, Abi decides to slip into Del's bed and seduce him...except she accidentally ends up in Liam's instead.

Liam never stopped loving Abi, and he plans to use every blazing hot trick in his book to keep her in his bed...even if it means sharing her with Del.

This is the first book I have read by Author Opal Carew and there are parts of my heart that still hurt after reading this book.

This book was more intense emotionally then I expected. Yes, I was ready for the sexy hot interaction between Abi and possibly both men but being torn in half and loving two men is really hard on one's heart system.

The author does a great job of both Liam and Del's emotional upheaval, how they feel about Abi and their own friendships. She takes the reader through how both men think in the beginning of the book to how they start to rethink their love for Abi when decisions have to be made.

I give this 4 STARS because this is more than an erotica it also includes emotions involving lost love and present love.

Hi. I’m Opal Carew and I write erotic romance for St. Martin’s Press.

I’ve been writing since 1993, though originally I wrote futuristic, urban fantasy, science fiction, paranormal and contemporary romance. These stories are set in the present, future, or alternate realities and most of my stories are steamy. I am now republishing these under the name Amber Carew.

As Opal Carew, I write erotic romances which always have a romance and a happy ending.

So why do I like writing erotic romance? I like being able to push beyond traditional boundaries. I like dealing with a woman who is growing and evolving – questioning her sexual boundaries and pushing past them. I have been writing stories that involve multiple characters and it’s fascinating to work with the interactions between them. What fun to write a heroine choosing between two equally appealing heroes?  My current project involves a group of several people who interact sexually and I find the scenario an enjoyable challenge.

I try to keep my characters real. I like to have a heroine with whom the reader can empathize. These aren’t women who just jump into bed with anyone. They find themselves in an unusual situation – something exciting and erotic – but a situation where they have to push themselves beyond their comfort level. As a result, they grow as a person. So often fear holds us back – of what others will think of us, of what we will think about ourselves – and we don’t follow our hearts. These women push past that fear.

The Most Dangerous Duke in London by Madeline Hunter

Sportochick's Musings ~ From page one this book is attention grabbing with its conflict, enemies, manipulation, revenge and fascination with finding the truth.

The Most Dangerous Duke in London

Decadent Dukes Society #1

by Madeline Hunter

Find The Book At ~ Amazon | B&N | Goodreads
Publisher ~ Kensington Books
Genres ~ Historical Romance

Three sinfully handsome dukes, three scores to settle, three hearts about to meet their matches. All in one thrilling new trilogy from New York Times bestselling author Madeline Hunter . . .

NOTORIOUS NOBLEMAN SEEKS REVENGE
Name and title: Adam Penrose, Duke of Stratton.
Affiliation: London’s elite Society of Decadent Dukes.
Family history: Scandalous.
Personality traits: Dark and brooding, with a thirst for revenge.
Ideal romantic partner: A woman of means, with beauty and brains, willing to live with reckless abandon.
Desire: Clara Cheswick, gorgeous daughter of his family’s sworn enemy.

FAINT OF HEART NEED NOT APPLY
Clara may be the woman Adam wants, but there’s one problem: she’s far more interested in publishing her women’s journal than getting married—especially to a man said to be dead-set on vengeance. Though, with her nose for a story, Clara wonders if his desire for justice is sincere—along with his incredibly unnerving intention to be her husband. If her weak-kneed response to his kiss is any indication, falling for Adam clearly comes with a cost. But who knew courting danger could be such exhilarating fun?

From page one this book is attention grabbing with its conflict, enemies, manipulation, revenge and fascination with finding the truth. These are just a few of the readers experiences in the first chapter and it gets even better from then on.

The primary female character, Clara Cheswick, has an exciting personality. She is strong willed, intelligent, beautiful and able to see the story behind the mask that Adam Penrose, Duke of Stratton wears. More than anything I like how she wants to be the difference in a world where women have no say. Her secret is exciting and adds meat to this story causing it to be a step above most historical romances.

Adam as the primary male character is bitter, revengeful as well as a loving son and good friend. This character has the most growth throughout the story and it is rewarding for him to finally get satisfaction to his questions about his father and the fighting between their families. I think the author did an outstanding job with his characters personal transitions throughout the book

I give this book 4 STARS for being a lively read.

5 STAR REVIEW The Secret of Flirting by Sabrina Jeffries

Sportochick's MusingsThe Secret of Flirting has a rapid changing dynamic storyline with the Prologue not only getting my attention but keeping me glued to the pages.

The Secret of Flirting

Sinful Suitors #5

by Sabrina Jeffries

Find The Book At ~ Amazon | B&N | Goodreads
Publisher ~ Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books
Genres ~ Historical Romance

“Quick pacing, witty dialogue, and charmingly original characters set Jeffries’ books apart” (Publishers Weekly, starred review), and The Secret of Flirting is the next thrilling romance in the bestselling Sinful Suitors series!

The moment spymaster Baron Fulkham meets the stunning Princess Anne of Chanay, he's positive her royal persona is a ruse and that she's actually Monique Servais, the mysterious actress he met three years before in Dieppe. But as he pursues his suspicions, he uncovers a plot of attempted assassination and betrayal that could very well destroy his career, expose his own secrets...and ruin the woman he's rapidly coming to love.

The Secret of Flirting is a sizzling historical romance filled with fast-paced storytelling, an enchanting heroine, and a sexy hero, perfect for fans of Regency romance.

The Secret of Flirting has a rapid changing dynamic storyline with the Prologue not only getting my attention but keeping me glued to the pages. Filled with interesting characters and danger as well as well written scenic descriptions this reader escaped for a while to the world of make believe.

Author Sabrina Jefferies continues to amaze me with her well written plots and the obvious detailed research she does for her stories shows in this book.

Both main characters are flawed but easy to come to love. This makes them real and believable. Monique does an excellent job of confusing Baron Fulkham and it was fun reading her ways of keeping him from discovering things he shouldn't.

Baron Fulkham is like a bulldog with a bone and he refuses to let things stay as they appear. His monitoring every word Monique says and trying to trip her up in her story was handled with finesse so it did not become redundant.

How the author ends this story will be rewarding for the reader and for this reason I give it 5 stars.

This is a fast sexy hot read where the chemistry between these two characters heats up the pages so that you don't want to put the book down. It involves an interesting plot and some conflict with additional intrigue which gives it additional impact.

I like the character Bette Monroe. She's dedicated and ambitious but knows when to cut her losses and leave. As for the dynamic Simon, well let's just say he took awhile for me to warm up to. But together they just work!

It was amusing reading the cat and mouse games they played causing me to laugh several times. Additionally, Simon's partners are just as inviting and fascinating as Simon, leading this reader into hoping there will be future books involving them.

I give this 3.5 STARS because I would of like a little more substance to the story.

Lisa Childs was born on 31 October, a Halloween birthday predestined her to a life of writing suspense. Born soft-spoken into a big, boisterous family where only he who speaks loudest is heard, she learned early to express herself through the written word. She has been writing since she could first form sentences and transfer them to paper with crayon. Her first books revolved around the antics of the family dog until she discovered Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. Then writing mysteries became second nature for her. At 11 she won her first writing award and was interviewed by the local newspaper. That story's plot revolved around a kidnapping, probably something she wished on any of her six siblings.

Lisa lives in Michigan, with a husband who provides loving support with praise and extra housecleaning duty, and two beautiful daughters who share her love of the written word. During the day she is a part-time insurance agent and full-time wife and mother. When night falls and fog from their 15-acre swamp wraps around their house, she becomes the focused writer, spinning stories she hopes her readers will enjoy. She enjoys the mix of suspense and romance. Readers are welcome to contact Lisa at PO Box 139, Marne, MI 49435
