Love takes the stage...

Elise deVries is not what she seems. By night, the actress captivates London theatergoers with her chameleon-like ability to slip inside her characters. By day, she uses her mastery of disguise to work undercover for Chegarre & Associates, an elite agency known for its discreet handling of indelicate scandals. But when Elise is tasked with locating the missing Duke of Ashland, she finds herself center stage in a real-life drama.

Noah Ellery left the glamour of the London aristocracy to pursue a simpler life in the country. He's managed to avoid any complications or entanglements—that is, until he lays eyes on Elise and realizes there's more to this beautiful woman than meets the eye. But when Elise reveals her real identity—and her true feelings for him—the runaway duke must confront the past he left behind . . . to keep the woman he loves forever.

A delightful story about Noah, an imperfect Duke, who is perfect in so many ways outside of societies definition and Elise who catches his heart with her forthrightness.

What a brilliant idea; Chegarre & Associates, an elite agency known for its discreet handling of indelicate scandals and it's having two strong women in the lead positions! I loved watching Elise being able to take care of herself and being a chameleon as needed for the job. The fact that she can be stronger than Noah and him not take offense with it was refreshing.

Author Kelly Bowen does a superb job in this story that stretches the aristocratic lines between propriety and how society deals with handicaps they can not understand. Written with intrigue and some danger the reader will be drawn into Elise's adventure in finding the missing Duke and keeping them both alive so he can enter into society to save the mother he can't forgive and a title he doesn't want.

This story deals with unforgivable acts from a loved one, helping another from grievous personal damage, finding love, dealing with a handicap, protecting those not able to protect themselves, connecting back with family and righting a wrong. I give this 4 STARS for the uniqueness of the storyline.

Kelly Bowen grew up in Manitoba, Canada. She worked her way through her teenage years as a back country trail guide and ranch hand. She attended the University of Manitoba and earned a Master of Science degree in veterinary physiology and endocrinology.

But it was Kelly's infatuation with history and a weakness for a good love story that led her down the path of historical romance. When she is not writing, she seizes every opportunity to explore ruins and battlefields.

Currently, Kelly lives in Winnipeg with her husband and two boys, all of whom are wonderfully patient with the writing process. Except, that is, when they need a goalie for street hockey.
