There are all kinds of surprises under the mistletoe!

As a protector of all jaguar-kind, Guardian agent Demetria MacFarlane isn’t surprised to get a call near Christmas—but when she’s sent to protect a cub whose species she didn’t even know existed, her holiday season gets complicated. And it doesn’t help that her partner is a distraction of the hottest kind.

Hotshot JAG agent Everett Anderson can handle dangerous poachers and wildlife traffickers, no problem…but kids? Everett fears he’ll be stuck cub-sitting under the Christmas tree, but working with one sexy Guardian she-cat may be the best present he’s ever gotten.

I have been on a roll this month reading books by authors I have never read before. Terry Spear fits in this category. Being a lover of paranormal shifter stories I was very excited to get this book to read since I have been reading reviews on her books from various people for years.

Primary characters Demetria and Everett have a complicated relationship that is explained in the Prologue. As the story progresses the reader will see that sometimes time doesn't make things better but more confusing and sometimes spending time together is the best medicine.

The best parts of this story for me was the Prologue and the loving interaction between Everett and Corey which made me cry. That is not to say that there weren't other parts of the story I loved. The plot was well thought out, interesting and the descriptions were amazing.

There is a large group of secondary characters that actively participate in this fun story that all deserve their own book. These characters are well written and developed to entice the reader to getting more books to the Heart of the Jaguar series just to read their HEA.

My one drawback is that at times it was just a little too sweet and perfect and I would of liked a little more conflict or tension. But this is a personal thing and after reading it I do look forward to reading more of her books..

I do recommend this book for all people and give it 3.75 STARS.

Love, love, love romance, the paranormal, hunky Highlanders with their delicious brogue and hot kilts, so Terry Spear writes about those hunky Highlanders both in medieval times and as wolves in contemporary times. Jaguar shifters too! And young adult urban fantasy. And romantic suspense.

She grew up reading mystery, adventure, mythologies from around the world, ghost stories, the paranormal, fell in love with Dracula and Wolfman, and felt they needed loving too. Everyone should have someone to love. Which means her stories always have a HEA.

USA Today Bestseller residing in Central Texas from Sacramento, California who creates award-winning teddy bears too!
